Grant Park is the centrepiece of the 23 mile-long band of green stretching along Lake Michigan shoreline from the city’s south end to its northern suburbs. The park is built on landfill and debris after the 1871 Fire. It is a park for the people with beautiful gardens and a sculpture park all in one.

At the main entrance to the park are two bronze figures, “The Bowman and the Spearman” by sculptor, Ivan Mestrovic (1928).
